You’ve never been baptized but, TODAY is the day!
Gospel Reading
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Mark 1:9–11
What is the meaning of Baptism?
Christ died for our sins... He was buried... and He rose again." 1 Cor. 15:3-4
“In baptism we show that we have been saved from death by the resurrection of Christ…not because our bodies are washed clean by the water but because in being baptized we are turning to God and asking him to cleanse our hearts from sin.” 1 Peter 3:2
Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. Acts 2:41

Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?” But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him. Matthew 3:13–15, NLT
1. The surprise of a new identity
Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 2 Corinthians 5:17
2. The surprise of public affirmation
As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart...And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” Mark 1:10–11 NLT
3. The Surprise of the Spirit’s power
...and the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove. Mark 1:10
Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. Matthew 4:1

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 NLT

Jesus said YES to give his life for you.
