Luke 11:2
So He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“Our Father in heaven,”
1. Connect With God Relationally
Your view of God will determine how you relate to Him.
Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
“Hallowed be Your name.”
2. Worship His Name
Hallowed = Holy, Set Apart, Sacred
1. God is My Righteousness
He makes us clean. — Jeremiah 23:6
2. God is My Sanctifier
He has called us and set us apart. — Leviticus 20:8
3. God is My Healer
He heals all our diseases. — Exodus 15:26
4. God is My Banner of Victory
He defeated our enemies. — Exodus 17:15
5. God is My Shepherd
He speaks to us and leads us. — Psalm 23:1
6. God is My Peace
He is our peace in every storm. — Judges 6:24, Ephesians 2:14
7. God is My Provider
He supplies all of our needs. — Genesis 22:14, Philippians 4:19
“Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”
3. Pray His Agenda First
(Psalm 139:23–24) “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
God, who in my life is far from You?
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
4. Depend on Him for Everything
“To pray is to accept that we are, and always will be, wholly dependent on God for everything.” - — Timothy Keller, Prayer: Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God
“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
5. Forgive and Be Forgiven
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
“And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.”
6. Engage in Spiritual Warfare
“God, I know temptation is coming… don’t let me fall into the trap today—Help me by your power to stand strong today...”
James 4:7 says,
“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”
7. Express Faith in My Father’s Ability
So here’s the challenge: Pre-decide to be part of 21 Days of Prayer.
