Lisa Harper is a gifted Bible teacher known for combining deep theological insight with laugh-out-loud storytelling. She has over 30 years of ministry experience, from leading living room Bible studies to speaking in packed arenas, always with the same goal: helping people know Jesus in a real and personal way.

Lisa has served in church and ministry leadership, including directing Focus on the Family’s national women’s ministry and spending a decade touring with Women of Faith, where she spoke to over a million women about God’s unconditional love. She holds a Master of Theological Studies from Covenant Seminary and recently completed her doctoral coursework at Denver Seminary.

When she’s not teaching, writing, or studying, you might find her hiking, trying to surf, or enjoying a coffee while working on her next book. But the role closest to her heart is being “Missy’s mom,” after adopting her daughter from Haiti in 2014—a journey she describes as her greatest joy.

Heartland Church is a multiethnic, life-giving church in Indianapolis that Senior Pastors Darryn and Loree Scheske founded. It all started with a dream to plant a church that would reach people who didn't know Jesus – To love people well, lead them into a transforming relationship with Jesus, and launch them to change their world.

For over 24 years, Heartland Church has been a welcoming community where people from all walks of life come together to worship, connect, and grow. Together, we have grown into a vibrant and thriving church where thousands of people attend weekend services and are in small groups.
